Because your rate is calculated based on the original length of the deposition, that cost is locked. So for a 1 hour, 30 minute deposition, your cost is $100. For a 1 hour, 59 minute deposition, the cost is only $105. The competition's cost is based on the total time that the editor spent to complete the job...a subjective figure. A two hour deposition can take twice as long to edit. That's four hours that you will have to pay at their rates (sometimes $125 per hour or more). If that editor is sidetracked, dishonest, or just plain slow, you'll pay for it!
