What type of editing does Evandry provide?

For our standard low rate, Evandry uses "cuts only" editing. This means that you choose what lines to keep or remove by highlighting the original transcript. Then, our editors create the edit based on this information. In the end, you get a shorter video that contains only the pertinent information and with verbal objections removed. The jury hears just the parts you wanted in trial.

If your editing needs are more complex, please call us for a consultation. Our editors are professionals with years of experience in legal and commercial video production. We can't offer the same low one-price-fits-all, but we promise competitive rates. Also, turnaround times may vary.

How quickly can I get my edited deposition back?

Our editors begin working the moment your video deposition is received. If it arrives early enough, Evandry is able to send the completed package back out the same day. In extreme cases, such as with an unusually large amount of video content, you will be notified immediately when you can expect to receive your completed videos.

Evandry ships all packages through Federal Express unless otherwise requested. Our free shipping is for FedEx 2day. We also offer FedEx Priority Overnight shipping for $15 more.

What are the benefits of an edited deposition?

Depositions are often edited to remove objections, highlight conflicting testimony or to make the deposition more efficient, removing distractions and keeping the jury's attention longer.

Where can I playback an edited deposition DVD?

An edited deposition DVD will play back in any standard DVD player that plays commercial DVD videos.

It will also play in most computers that have a DVD player built in. However, playback from a computer may be unreliable in a courtroom situation. For maximum dependability, we recommend that you use a standard television DVD player for playback.

What will be returned to me in the final product?

Your final package will include:

  • your edited, custom labeled DVD(s) in a unique case.
  • your original deposition video(s).
  • an invoice for the services rendered.

Evandry may keep the marked deposition transcript. This is for any follow up editing. Because we keep all edited videos on file in both their original and edited forms, we can easily make any additional changes later. It only takes a phone call or e-mail. If you would still like the original transcript back, please let us know by phone or e-mail.

Also, additional copies are available for $20 per disc.

How much does your editing service cost?

The short answer is $100 per deposition hour, one hour minimum. After that, it is billed on each quarter hour.

But, to see how our rates beat the competition go to Editing Rates and view a comparison.

Additional copies are then available for $20 per disc or tape.

What is the purpose of the DVD menu?

In a courtroom, it is vital that video is started quickly and nothing is missed by the jury.

Without a menu, a DVD will begin playing immediately in the DVD player when the disc is inserted. Even if the TV is not on, the audio is not turned up, the jury's attention is not gained or the judge's permission is not granted, the DVD will begin playback anyway.

With a menu, the DVD will pause on a menu that simply states the case caption and has a discreet play button. Then, when everyone is prepared to view the video, choosing "play" will begin the playback.
